I'm just worried Jens dad didn't misshift while he had the car.
Anyway, my questions and concersn have been answered exceptionally well. So there is no need for further like contribution to this thread. Let it fall back into archives/history for future paranoid RSX owners...:chuckles:

2002 Civic and that baby was ticking since she left the dealer. The delaler told me thats just the way Honda Engines are.

all K series engines tick. the injectors are noisy as hell and the rockers tick. there isn't anything we can do about it at the dealership.
