Damn there are a lot of haters out there. I guess your better than everyone cuz you drive a 5 speed. But just dont hate b/c your cars not as fast as mine, i just pulled a 12.77 last week, so when your runnin those kinda times say w/e you want but until then SHUT THE **** UP :fawk:

 

It's not that they are car haters, it's just that they see an automatic as a detrement to a fun car to drive...... say what you want, but to me if you want to drive an auto -- and I don't care how fast you make it -- you might as well get a Cadillac Sedan DeVille and put an SC on that Northstar.

it's exactly what i'm trying to say...

shiet you could give me a pristine black 96 M3 and the Auto tranny "that shifts faster than humanly possible" and i'd still look at you sideways and be on the market for a real transmission.

bottom line is, when cornering *I* want to have control of how much power i'm putting to the ground, because i sure as hell don't want to trust any sort of Torque Converter to do it for me.

it's great that you have a fast drag strip lude. that's cool. but ultimately not my can of worms.

hence, "it's still an auto."

and btw, i wasn't saying that you pick your nose while driving, i was saying that whenever I drive an auto i end up picking my nose b/c i get that bored. shift knob keeps my fingers clean, quite literally.

 

I wasn't exactly suggesting nose-picking with the free RIGHT hand, lol.

As for your car being faster than mine, I don't doubt it, because at the moment, other than Forbidden's sh. shifter, my car is stock, but like monkey said, and I will say: it's still an auto. On the other hand, it is a prelude, and more importantly, a Honda, so I'm not gonna lash out at you, and ultimately I'm sure you didn't choose the auto over a 5 speed (because that would just be wrong), so I can't hold that against you either, but you have to understand, when I think of automatics, I think of american cars, I think of sloppiness, and I think of merging onto a highway, where when I mash the accelerator, the car slowly accelerates with a "woooooooooo" sound then finally gets the clue, kicking into a lower gear with a "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" sound and accelerating, 1 too many seconds after I needed it. While your car may or may not do this, I really don't care, I just hate autos, so yes, I'm a hater, but ya know what? Until someone cuts my right hand off and throws it to a pack of hungry wolves, I will NEVER buy an automatic, and even then, I won't support the buying of automatics. someone else take the soapbox before I overstay my welcome.

 

Yes I understand what all of you are saying... The point im tryin to make is that you cant say a auto car cant be fast b/c there are a lot of fast auto cars out there... I like 5 speed cars, my last was a 13sec rx7 which was insane to drift and shit bein 5 speed and all... As for the lude i have now i didnt have the choice to get it 5 speed or auto but im really happy with what i have i mean its a 12sec auto lude, pretty crazy shit.. Im just sayin dont hate on autos sayin they cant be fast when in reality they can be just as fast as 5 speed car... I mean maybe the "fun" factor isnt there but im happy with it and it does what i want it to do...

 

well that's good. i'm happy for you b/c i'm actually not all that happy with my car right now...
