Need new brake pads!!
I have a '99 Prelude SH, and I want to buy some new brake pads, should I get some nice one online or just go to a honda dealership and get the OEM one? If online, which ones are good to go for? thanks.
If you don't have any real need for better pads then you can get yours from hparts.com or another online places that sells OEM pads. There's lots of good pads out there and to be honest I don't know which are which. I think I'm going to go with AEM pads which I heard are just a little btter then OEM.
The OEM pads are generally fine. The AEM/Nissin pads are a better, but you really will not notice much of a difference.
I have Bendix/OEM pads on my 99 and they are fine even for track days.
Might I suggest that you seriously consider putting a set of stainless steel brake lines (Goodridge) on the car as that will give you a firmer pedal feel.
If you are racing then the pads you select must be able to withstand the heat of constant brake usage-EBC, Nissin and Porterfield come to mind.

OEM Honda rotors don't usually do well with aftermarket pads. They stop fine but the rotors warp and wearout faster. If you are gonna go with aftermarket pads like AEM, get the matching rotors if you can afford them. Otherwise stick with OEM pads

The right-side front rotor on my 5th. Honda Prelude is warped but I'll be upgrading to the AEM Big Brake Upgrade and will definitely go with AEM/Nissin pads and Goodridge brake lines.
