The OEM pads are generally fine. The AEM/Nissin pads are a better, but you really will not notice much of a difference.
I have Bendix/OEM pads on my 99 and they are fine even for track days.
Might I suggest that you seriously consider putting a set of stainless steel brake lines (Goodridge) on the car as that will give you a firmer pedal feel.
If you are racing then the pads you select must be able to withstand the heat of constant brake usage-EBC, Nissin and Porterfield come to mind.
