Default Hey all, first post, need some help with pricing...

Just wanted to say hi first, and that I apologize for the boringness of this thread.

Anyway, there's a kid at school (UMich) that's selling a black '93 Prelude VTEC with 120,000 miles, moonroof, AIWA CD deck, remote starter ontop of stock options. I checked KBB and reffed some autotrader and cars.com prices.

I was wondering what would be a GOOD price to get that type of car at? I want to make sure what to negotiate for...

Lastly, hopefully I'll be posting a VIN soon, so hopefully someone can run that for me...just want to check, since I don't think he's the original owner.

Thanks in advance everyone, I've been enjoying your forums for a while now, finally had a question to ask.

It's a 5spd right? I see remote start which 9 times out of 10 is done on auto and there wasn't any automatic VTEC 4th Gens. For the price I'd try KBB.com or edmunds...I think kbb is closer to the correct price.

Good luck

Alright, well he just replied and doesn't seem that he'll want to get anywhere near KBB or "average" Edmunds price, so I dunno what to do. Maybe someone else here wants to sell me a 6K 'Lude near MI?

I know before I purchased my SH I was looking HARD for a 4th gen VTEC and it was near impossible then. This was more then 3 years ago so I'm sure ones in nice shape are fetching a pretty good price. I honestly think it's too the point where a '97 is almost as much as a 4th Gen VTEC.

Just received the VIN, if anybody's able to run it for me, it would be greatly appreciated:

JHMBB1173PC003793

Any suggestions as to how to talk him down? I've seen numerous other 'ludes for sale around his year, for a lower starting price, but that isn't much to argue with.

Lastly, he says he doesn't like KBB prices, and looks more at edmunds...probably because they quote him higher.

Thanks thatpreludeguy, for your help so far.
