obd-ii workaround

I've read through this setup about 3 times, sounds pretty simple. Thinking of doing it on my 96 prelude. Are there any drawbacks to resetting the ECU once or twice a week? Has anyone tried this at all?
The process seems pretty simple... just wondering what might be some reasons NOT to do this. Thanks.

I am thinking about adding this switch this weekend.
Will it harm anything if I have to do a smog test? I dunno if they even test for that in Pennsylvania.
I'm assuming that if a shop hooked up to the ECU they would be able to see when the last time it was reset (maybe not, I dunno) but if I need them to work on something and I just reset it 1 day ago... is that going to cause any problems?
Also, if I cut the backup power to the ECU and the car is off... how long does it take till it's reset? Instant? 10mins? Hour? I ask because I read that if you remove the negative battery cable, it resets instantly... but if you pull the fuse for it, it takes 15mins.

I just had to drop down $275 for a new exaust pipe. Old one rotted through. I want to reset my ECU... not that it's a big deal... but is there and easy way to do this without loosing the radio presets?
If I have to, I'll just reprogram them. Not that hard, but I'd like to save a few steps if I can.

I didn't have enough time to wire in a switch this weekend. But I did pull the fuse for 15mins and that seems to have done it.
Could I just pull the fuse instead of cutting the wire? Or is the fuse for the whole ECU and not just the backup?

Yea, I know. I'm a bum. But I plan on doing it on a regular basis and don't wanna have to reprogram every time... pulling the fuse didn't mess with the presets, so it's all good. Just wondering if I can pull it and leave it out.

Umm....if pulling the fuse didn't resent the presets that means you pulled the wrong fuse,
You probably pulled the ECU fuse which only cuts the main power to the ECU, not the back up power.
What you need to do is pulled the radio back up fuse to reset the ECU. And no you don't need to leave the fuse out for an extended amount of time, just pull it out for like 5-10 seconds is fine.
