Umm....if pulling the fuse didn't resent the presets that means you pulled the wrong fuse,
You probably pulled the ECU fuse which only cuts the main power to the ECU, not the back up power.
What you need to do is pulled the radio back up fuse to reset the ECU. And no you don't need to leave the fuse out for an extended amount of time, just pull it out for like 5-10 seconds is fine.
