Default clutch fluid

i was driving home last night and my clutch gave out completely. i made it home and i checked the fluid and it was bone dry. i filled it up and drove the car but it still seems a little different. The gears switch fine now but the pedal isnt as firm as it used to be. do i have to bleed it like i would the brakes? is there anything else that i should check out?

Check the floor by the pedal to see if it's wet...if it is you have a leak in the slave cylinder...pretty common problem with the ludes

You could have a hole in the lines so you should bleed it

I filled the reservior and now its empty again. I definatly have a leak somewhere because I can see little drips on the ground every time i press the clutch. Anybody have any idea where the leak could be?

If there would be aleak by the pedal that would be the master cylinder, if its not leaking, then its the slave cylinder, which is on the tranny itself.

Replace the slave cylinder. Refill with fluid, bleed the clutch. Drive it like you stole it. Shouldn't take you more than a hour with simple tools and an extra hand to help you bleed the lines. You can get a one-man bleeder kit from any parts store for around $10 if you're short handed on help.
