Default After Tbelt change....

Let me start with saying that my Tbelt almost snapped over the weekend, but I got it fixed before it did. The belt skipped a tooth and I didn't end up with any bent valves. Along with the replacement of the Tbelt, I also replaced various seals, P/S belt, and alternator belt.

Well being the first "major" tune-up/maintaince on my car I had done, I have noticed the car feels different; the tranny shifts much smoother (didnt change the tranny fluid) the gas pedal seems much firmer, and the overall feel of the car is much better

After getting the belts changed, the mech I brought the car to said that I needed to change my front tires as they were badly worn and about to blow out. So I had them replaced. The car leans to the right on its own, so I am assuming that I need an alignment and need to have my tires balanced, but when i hit the brakes and almost comes to a complete stop, the car feels like it has hit a "rough patch."

My question are/is

1) is that how my car is suppoed to feel after a tbelt change?
2) after alignment and getting my tires balanced, will the "rough patch" brakingstop?

If it skipped a tooth and the belt was replaced...then you should notice a significant change in performance.

hmm good observation. What I think happened, was that when it skipped a tooth, then I brought it in to be fixed right away. So im not sure if a tooth had been skipped prior to the weekend, but maybe that might explain why the car feels much better.

Its always good to get your tires balanced. As far as an alignment goes, didnt you JUST start to notice it? That wouldnt signify that you need an alignment. Thats usually a gradual change over time, it doesnt just appear to be needed. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I think your right, well I had them do am alignment anyways, and everything chcked out ok. The car still leans to the right, so they tried to even out the tire pressures to see if that was the culprit and it wasn't. Next the roatated all tires. Still a problem and still leans right. What they had suggested was that becuase these tires were very new, possibly the tire(s) needs to be worn down or broken in a little before it stops leaning right. Sounds plausible, but I don't know. Anyone know anything?

Oh yea, the tires are balanced when they mounted the tires onto my car.

EDIT: the more i think about, the more i realized that it cant be the tires as they are new. I took these new tires off my cousin's prelude. He had a spare set lying in the garage and I came to use them. Any other suggestions? Im getting tired from holding the wheel to the left on the freeway. It makes me swerve and feel like a drunk driver.

Come to think of it. I had the same problem. Just that it apparently wasnt as bad since I was capable of dealing with it. Mine leaned to the right a little. I figured out later that something was up with my drivers side rear wheel well. Turns out that they couldnt even rotate my tires cuz it was as if the compartment for it was smaller in width. I think my car was in an accident that never got reported to Carfax. Shitty. Anyway, as far your problem goes, have you check your power steering lately?

well i brought the car in for alignment, and it was dead on. So they said that i should drive around for a while and see if it is infact the tires. After the alignment, they rotated my tires, which made the car pull right a little less.

How would i check my power steering? I had my P/S belt replaced when I got the Tbelt changed. Could that have something to do with it?

and another question. They pointed out my old tires and how much damage there was on my front driver's side. The inner wall of that tire had a large groove on it. What would have caused that? will that translate onto this set?! Suspension problem? Just tossing something out there as I am still learning basic maintainance on cars.
