schmoo is the forced induction honda motor king! i wish i knew as much as you so i could build small, quick spooling turbo setup for my h23. forced induction is a true test of one's mechanical knowledge, not even for setup but when something goes wrong.... im too smart to dive into it and drown in confusion but maybe someday i can gather the knowledge and tackle the project.

u can run more then 5 pounds on a vtec honda motor like a b16,b18,h22
u need to give the car a good tune and you will be fine u can run 8 pounds on a stock motor easy tuning is the deciding factor if it is going to blow up or not

PSI is BULL SHIT to measure how much u can boost, cause each turbo varies..

Psi doesn't matter. The CFM flow rate of the turbo will be the deciding factor. With a good tune, an H series can take as much boost as a B series and I have seen dyno charts to prove this. The sleeves are pretty much bulletproof but the pistons have weak ringlands, so the tune must be good to avoid those breaking.

It should be. Honda-tech has like 500 of these threads...some with good information and some with a bunch of bullshit like this thread.

well to end this argument ill go ahead and post this..

http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1478127&page=1

all of these numbers are on completly stock honda internals. so all you idiots spitting out misinformation about how a honda motor is not supposed to be boosted, you are completly wrong.

no fucking kidding. You guys need to stop talking out asses because the first like 10 post are complete garbage. You guys know NOTHING about boosting a motor obviusly, so you shouldnt be offering advice like you do. Like Schmoo was saying the H22 can handle boost just as well as the B series with a good tune, most people make 300hp on the stock block at the minimum before any kind of internal work needs to be done. What turbo you use to get there is your choice and it when and how you want the power will be how you decide. You should NOT boost your motor right now, because your are grossly misinformed on the subject, so first stop for you should be Honda-tech forced iduction and read the the newb sections, and homemadeturbo.com will provide you with some more knowledge and how to build a kit thats both cheap and effective. The rest of you fuckers need to pull your heads out of asses and stop pulling information from your ass

Thanks to all of you that have posted advice and know what you're talking about. I have a few more things i need to do to the engine before i turbo it. I'm thinking an ECU is a good idea. Comments?
