so the engine is cranking over?? you are positive that it is cranking over? i thought it was just clicking? i can tell you that a bad battery will make your car do all sorts of crazy shit. i didnt realize that the car was cranking. if it is cranking strong, then you need to check for fuel and spark. if those are both tthere, then you should check your map sensor.

Thanks guys,,,I found the problem,,,it was the battery,,apparently it is showing a good charge but not enough to start the engine. The battery just doesn't hold a charge,,,the minute I shut the car off,,,I can't start it up again regardless of how long I've run the car.
I'll get a new battery before I stress the alternator and cause other problems.

have your alternator tested too. it might not be charging the batt

My Prelude is doing similar things, it cranks, but delays acouple of seconds before starting. I just had my engine replaced though. How does the fuel pressure affect this? I will look into your other good advice though..thanks..
