well the first thing I did was take it too a honda dealership and let them look at it. After trying a valve adjustment and hooking it up to the computer, they still didnt know so they told me just to buy a whole new motor. I'm not really conviced with their opinion. I drove it just the other day and it still has power, with the only difference being there is alittle hesitation in acceleration at about 3000 rpm and the vtec isn't kicking in anymore.

my car only has 85,000 on it, although motor may have not had an easy life. The dealership did also change the oil and didn't report anything about metal shavings in the pan.

I am with you on this. Sounds like it may be a spun rod bearing. I say pull the oil pan and pull the bearing caps and see.

Sounds like a bearing problem or possibly a rod bolt got stretched. I'd do a leakdown test.

youve got oil flow/psi problems if your vtec isnt engaging. spun bearings most likely. depending on how bad it is you might have to have the block line boared and the crank reground. probably cheaper and less down time to swap in a new engine
