Well first off you'll need an h22 head, if you can find one,(you might as well put in a whole H22), it should bolt straight up, tranny will line up(gear ratios will be different from h22 tranny) i dont know too much about the ECU but i heard you can use the H23 ECU, but you'll have to splice a wire for the V-tec. More people will post so you should be able to figure it out, but the best bet is to go full H22 it will cost a little more but it will save you in the long run, especially if you live in a state with emission tests.

you need to get a p13 ecu cause the h23 uses a p14, i heard that the h23 vtec isant a very good engine and that the h23/h22 swap is hard. you might as well buy a turbo kit and slap it on your h23 and call it a day h23 boosted are awsome i am not sure how much boost it can handle but it would be awsome

Yeah, the h23 "frankenstein" isn't something I'd rely on for my everyday transportation. Just save, no matter how hard it is, and finally get you that H22 you've been wanting, already.h:

yo man whats up. i actually did it in my hatchback. it is alot of work you have to swap over ALL the timing stuff the colant pipe on the back of the motor the head of course you have to get a new head gasket and timing belt and might as well get a water pump and oil pump at that. ( that was my problem ) i blew my motor after 17 miles my oil pump failed on my h23 and i had LOW miles on it. but my friend did the same thing and his motor only lasted him 1 month and he drove his car only on the weekends. just a heads up. in my opinion IF you wanted to be h23 vtec get the euro r motor in japan and europe the type r accords from i believe 98 to 01 have that h23 vtec motor in it already! so that would be the best thing for you to do if thats what your looking for.
