Default Lude rattling

My prelude has had a rattling noise for the past couple months.
It sounds like it is coming from the passenger side somewhere and through the ac/heat vents. I only notice the noise when doing about 40+ mph and it doesn't do it all the time. I can only here the sound when the music is low or off and when the windows are up.
I don't think it has anything to do with my mods because I've had the same setup since April and just started noticing the noise in July.
Has anyone experienced this problem in their 5th gen lude and/or know what is making this annoying sound or how to fix it.

I know this probably sounds stupid, but try emptying out the glove box and the door storage to see if that makes any difference. It could be that simple, something rattling in the glove box.

Thanks, but that is the first thing I did.
It sounds like the noise is coming out of the vents or the pillars, or somewhere outside the car.

IF the car is modded (suspension in particular) check all of the mounting points for loose bolts. It drove us nuts until we found one of the bolts for the right front upper control arm was not fully tightened.

DUnno if you have a DC header.... if you do ... i would look there. You might have the famous broken mounting braket on the header. Most of my friend have had that happened to them and all had to reweld the bracket. so look under the car and have someone reve the engine. but try to be in like 3-4,000 rpms since that would be about 40 mph in 2nd

hope that helped

I found the problem; it was the side skirt on the passenger side, it was missing one of the three screws and making the metal noise.
