2900 for a 4th gen vtec? where would the extra weight come from? h22s aren't that heavy. the si weighs about 2600 lbs. try a site like edmunds.com, something more credible.

looked up the 94 prelude vtec on edmunds.com and they had no specs for it...did a little more reasearch around the net and most sites listed it at somewhere between 2700-2800 lbs. either one you choose youll have a great car...vtec, close to 200hp on both. i just dislike the design of the 4th gen. The 5th gen seems like more of a head turner than the 4th gen but thats just an opinion. only downside aobut 5th gen is thats it hard to find an affordable one...im only 17 dont have a ton of money to spend on a car but somethin in the 10k or 11k range is what im lookin for...found a few preludes in that price but im sitll hesitant....ive had two cars in the past year and both have not been too reliable ( 91 mazda protege and 92 honda accord) the mazda i drove it all out wasnt too kind too it so im not surprised that it stopped running as well but ive babied my accord, ive done all the secheduled maintenance, taken great care of it and still things are out of my control when it comes ot some parts breaking down....thats why im hesitant to just buy another car because who knows what can happen and ive worked hard for this money so im tryin to do research and everything i can before i buy any car so i just wanna thank everyone whos replied cuz ure mkaing this a whole lot easier

dude i can find a reliable 5th gen for $7000 in my area. go to www.craigslist.org, choose your local area. with any car, you have to ask the right questions before you buy. get something bone stock, not riced out. ask to see maintenance records, is it up to date on service? test drive, and MOST IMPORTANT... before you buy, spend the $130 for a full pre-purchase diagnostic, INCLUDING compression test, at your local HONDA DEALER. i just bought a 95 teg LS with 171k miles for $2000, and it's perfectly reliable. the paint is faded and the car needs a thorough detailing, but it's up to date on service. the lady i got it from has owned it since 20k miles and it's already had its 2nd timing belt done. she has all the service records. if you were in my area i'd be happy to come check out a car with you.
