I replaced mine at 85k, and in the process felt I did so rather prematurely. The belt had not one crack on it (of course you can't see it till after you remove the accessories, engine mount, jack up the block and pull off the belt cover).

But either way it's probably a good bet to do so in the 80k miles range. Interference engines aren't something to gamble with.

That 105,000 mile recomendation is if you drive your Prelude like gramps drives his Lincoln.

If the belt had a crack in it, it would have been too late. When you replace the belt, it should still look pretty good.

7 years or 105k i work for a honda dealership 6.5hrs labor $575 cam seals,crank seal, water pump and belt
