looking to get a lude
i really like preludes, and a guy on this forum is selling one and i have not driven or riden in one. Performance wise i know the prelued is way faster but how do they handle compared to an EF? I currently have an 90 hatch si. And how good are the H23 with boosting and high reving? i know everything about b series but not very familer with the ludes and the h series motor. It's a 92 prelude i belaive it has v-tech.
First there was no VTEC engine available in 1992 in the US. Only the H23. The H23 engine is NOT the VTEC engine, its a regular N/A engine, making ~160 hp, and 130tq. The H23 is not a good candidate for "high rev-ing" applications (such as slapping a VTEC head on,) but it is a decent engine for turbo charging. There is no supercharger commercially available for the H23.
Unless he has done a swap and put an H22 in the car. Then it has VTEC.
Handling wise the EF hatch is lighter, with a shorter wheel base, so it is more tossable than a Prelude, the 'Lude is longer, heavier, with poor weight distribution, making it understeer or harder to turn. I drive a 92 4WS in autocross, and regularly lose to guys in EF si HBs.
How old are you? Your typing sucks, and have some patience before you start bumping.

Prelude owners - and I think especially 4th gen owners - are a very devoted bunch. You could become part of the crew.
I'm on my second.
That sounds a little like VTEC is not N/A. Just for the record, it is naturally aspirated. Also, I seem to remember the H23 has 156 tq.
Anyway, I live in Davis and the Bay Area (like the seller) and I knew about his car before I bought my new 4th gen. I haven't actually seen it in person though. It looks sweet and VERY well-maintained* and I'd love to own it, but guys, it is WAAAY highly modified. https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=189047
I noticed you're asking about suspension for the Prelude in your Honda-Tech thread about this purchase. This has KYB AGX race springs, which are low and stiff. Did you specifically want to change these?
The only thing 1993 about this car is the console swap, which is a good thing.
Maybe I'll check out this car in person soon if we have a Prelude meet around here this summer.

*except for changing oil every 3k. That's too often.

Thanks for the replies, that is helpful information.
Not to hi-jack the thread, but what do you mean by this?
Too often? You've got me worried now

That's enough for this off-topic tangent (sorry mods!). :uhhok:
