did he get lucky with a h22a1 4th gen?
ask him to look at the engine code plate. (below Starter, or front of block)

ok.... but first tell me what all that stuff is... an h22a1? a code plate? i think i know what a starter is... and block?

O.K. -- Let's start with the easy stuff first. If you don't know what year it is, and your boyfriend won't tell you or is completely loopey, open the driver's door. Look for a sticker on the body below the door latch (not on the door, on the body of the car). There might be two or three, but one of them will have the date the car was built (when it rolled off the assembly line). Look closely at all the stickers and read everything on them.

If you post the VIN number, we can tell right away which year, trim, and engine it is.
