Heyo
I just got an iPod for christmas
and I was thinkin of ways to play it in my car (through the prelude's stereo system). I know it's easy to run it into the tape deck, but no tape deck for my 5th gen. Another way is to use the radio transmitter, but that's just no fun! Is there a way I could wire it into the system? I know it's possible, but has anybody on han.net done it? Sounds like an adventure.

I just bought one too..
it has a 3.5mm line out jack.
So just buy a cable where one end is a 3.5mm jack and the other is two rca jacks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...739100442&rd=1
connect that to the Lineinput on your Headunit in your car and viola.....
I have mine hooked up to the line input off my tv tuner.
I dont use the charging cable since I dont have any USB or firewire ports in my car......

Yea you can easily just buy a cable like that, but my car dosn't have any Aux-in jacks. I'd have to dive and in and start cutting wires.
the "Lineinput on your Headunit in your car and viola" is where I'm confused, haha. THanks though

Get a fm transmitter/modulator, very easy to hook up to your antenna plug that goes into your head unit, you then can plug that cable into the fm transmitter, and you then can play your ipod over your stereo. People do the same thing when they want to play sound from a game system or dvd player over there speakers in a car.
I just got an iPod for xmas too and am looking for a way to play it in my 5th gen. I was thinking about buying the iTrip, but it seems that the sound quality isn't that great.
billscivic00 sounds like the best option so far, but I am curious to see what others may have to say...

I have a Hon-Aux cable that connects to the stock radio through the back through the changer port and you can hook up any audio device through it. I have pictures if you would like. I am selling it because i upgraded to the Alpine headunit and it requires a different adapter. Pm me if you are interested!
I have my Zen micro connected with a monster cable from the aux inputs on my headunit. The thing I don't like about it is that I have to change songs on the mp3 player and not the deck. Here's a pic that you can kind of see player in the bottom left corner. I ran the wire along the passenger panel of the console, so you can't see it until it reaches the player.
