Default how to turn check engin light off?

I need to know how to get rid of the check engin light. My high flow cat is causing the o2 sencer to read bad. I might be trading my car in so I dont want the dealer seeing it and saying its not worth anything. And I dont want to reset the ecu everytime I take it to a dealer. Any help would be great. I tried the search but didnt find anything.

Fixing it would be good.

Or if you want to be a sleez you can cut the wire or take out the bulb

It cant be fixed. The sensor isnt bad or at least it wasnt before, the high flow cat is causing it to read bad. I guess its reading to much flow, for emisions. It started reading bad as soon as I put it on. I had to replace the stock one because ceramic filter was loose and rattleing around. Is taking the bulb out the only way?

If you don't want to get a stock cat put back on, then taking the bulb out is the only way to go, but when you take it to the dealership and they turn your key, they'll be able to tell you took it out, cause they'll most likely check to see if all you dummy lights work

I'd say put the old cat back in so the light is off, plus some of that emission stuff has a hefty fine if you dont watch what your doing so I wouldnt trade in a car with the cat modified anyway. You can get an obd2 redeader and deleate them but as soon as the car is started and runs for a little bit itll come back on.

If the light is on because of the cat and something else to trip the CEL comes up, how will you know? It could be something real bad. I would just swap the old cat or a new equivalent in to turn the CEL off just so you know if something else is going on with your engine.

The stock cat is no good, if it was I would never of put the highflow one on. I live in florida and they do not check emissions as far as I know. The only way to get the check engin light to turn off properly is to replace the stock cat, last time I checked they were like $400. I dont realy want to spend 400 on a car im selling. Another question: Im also trying to sell it myself, what is a good price to start it at? Its a 98 with 61,000 miles on it. good condition, and the only thing wrong with it is the check engin light being on because of the hi-flow cat. The kbb value is 9,600 does that seem about right? I dont always trust kbb.
