I have a 98 lude with 57000 miles on it, and the kelly blue book value is 10,000 in good condition.

I paid $13,000 last yr for a 99 with 70,000 which matched Edmunds and KBB value exactly.

ummm, i'm pretty sure the EBP preludes didn't come out until either 2000 or 2001. MAYBE 1999, but i'm sure that color was not available in 1997. make sure u get the VIN so u can do basic checks on it. carfax, autocheck, even the honda owners link to see original color in case it was painted. but yea as long as everything got fixed properly, it shouldn't be a problem

That's cheap but check the insurance rates on a salvage titled car. I would never buy a salvage titled car unless he let you have it checked out and you drive it for a while.

Yeah EBP preludes came out only in 2001. Better carfax it urself, smells fishy, take it to a mechanic and have that frame check out. Also if ur paying for it in cash you might as well only get liability insurance. That salvage title will make a big difference on ur insurance payments, especially full coverage payments. I'd recommend getting a lude that wasn't salvaged I'm sure u could find a decent '97 with a clean title for about that price. Peace

i mean maybe it's not the odometer, maybe it's a 2001 advertised as a 1997. a 2001 w/ 35k mi. makes a lot of sense. This suggestion is going on the fact that it's a EBP prelude.

Whoa, didn't know so many replied to the post. My e-mail was dumping the replies in my junk e-mail. Stupid filter. I drove it and everything. Drove pretty well, but was not that messed up. I already ran carfax and everything. Everything checked out fine. Didn't buy it in the end. I talked him down to $6k, but this car was for my gf. Her dad didn't like it so she didn't buy.... unfortunately.

I know its salvage and all, but I've dealt with salvage cars before. They're not that bad. Insurance on that is'nt too bad either. It all depends on the person the name it's going under.

I tried looking for a lude for around that price. I found some clean title ones, but the cars have 125,000+ miles on them. That's way too much if I'm going to buy a used car for that price. I know honda motors last a while, but damn, 125,000?

ahhh downshift, you're a local. But nah, the car was in Pasadena, not Rosemead. He was real cool about the sale too. Let me drive it and everything. He only wanted to sell cuz he has too many cars on his driveway and is saving up for a down on a home. That's why the price was pretty good.

But, in the end, did not purchase.... Car sold now. Thanks for the help guys...
