manual is better for launching not consitancy but best to best cause u can slip it the clutch which would result in better 60's sure your cluth would go out fast but youd get fast off the lines but wiht turbos automatics are better for shifting ebcasue it keeps the turbo spooled

i ran the quarter in my auto lude today
My best time that i got was a 16.75 at 86 mph. i was dissappointed in it. i think i might sell it if i cant find a way to hit at least 15's. what would nos do to an auto97 lude with over 100k miles?

Not to be a dick or anything man just run your car with the damn seats in. 100 lbs equals 1 tenth in the quarter think about it. Unless your competing for some cabage forget it. It's not like it's going to take you from 15 flat to a 14.3,

16.7 for an auto lude? It's either Bullshit or you can't even drive an auto which is sad. I'm guessing you car is ina serious need of a tune up. My best friend has a base lude auto and it wasted my 5-speed VX hatch with a D16Z6 and EX tranny in it. My hatch ran consistant low 16's (16.2 or so) off the bottle before the build on a brand new stock bottem end and rebuilt head with a P&P. I mean he raped me on three seperate occasions back to back because I thought it would be closer. Also his lude edged out my Auto 97' Maxima on the highway by about a car length at 100MPH. I have seen stock Auto 96-99 Maxima's run low 15's. His lude is not "fast" IMO but it's a blast to drive in manual mode. I have seen this manual is better than auto arguement too many times. How about we actually post some numbers like the thread starter wanted. Most magazines list the auto times within a couple tenths of the manual times.
