dog i aint tryin to start shit i merely stated that if this girl wants to strictly DRAG RACE then an automatic would be better. If circuit then id go with stick. Then i said if anyone wants to prove me wrong about that then i have a truck that i would gladly race someone in and prove what im talkin about. Not that my truck is the badest thing ever, Not that i can beat anytihng on the street. Man i know my place and i know where i stand! I also know that there are much better ways to converse about something without resorting to racist name calling. I know this is a honda forum but i know alot about hondas so i posted what i know. Not to tak shit but to be infomative!!!!

To soothe ur worries about a stock civic being able to beat you... prepare to be dissapointed. I have a stock 2002 Civic EX coupe (5 spd) and can dust my friend's prelude. I've raced 2 auto preludes (one heavily modified but no nos or turbo or anything) and the other just mildly.... i took the basically stock one by 4 car lengths when he used triptronic and 2 when he just used auto. I took the heavily modded one by 2 ... dont know if he used trip tronic or not. A 5spd prelude will smoke me any day. Don't ever use the triptronic, it ****s up ur tranny and u can't "really" downshift. Just gun it in auto and rev it to 2500 rpm before you slip it in D4. And if you're spending money on mods to your car... really consider a 5spd manual conversion for about 1500$, it'll be worth it. A 5spd prelude is no joke.

01Blacker... an auto might be better for your car just cause domestic trannies suck. If you could get a viper or SRT-4 with a tranny similar to that of a honda ... the difference would be undescribable in words

Yes this i know. But i also know that to increase the amount that the clutches will hold you can only do so to that of which the housing can handle. In a much larger trans that is iron casted your point is proven. But in an aluminum trans thats where the issue starts

i wouldn't go as far as "awsome"... try and take an auto durango past 100k miles without tranny problems.... an auto import tranny is still better than an auto domestics. Once u get one from jegs or something for strictly dragging ur fine... but stock domestics have a huge tranny problem.
