Are Preludes with automatic transmissions prone to problems? I have a 5 speed so I have no first hand knowledge. I don't know why the SH gets ripped on so much, I have a base model but if I knew that I was not going to do any mods on my car then I would have gone with the SH. They handle very well.

The only diffrence between SH and base prelude is ATTS (basically advance traction system). ATTS adds something like 300? 500? on the SH, so that makes it slightly slower.
Not sure but all SH comes with leather, and base has it optional. Personally, i think base is better because lot of used engine parts are much cheaper and easy to find that SH parts ... u will be surprised how much different the engines are for base and SH (in terms of maintanence only).
I have a base 5spd and it seems like its much nicer (comfortable) ride than GSR.

Yah, mine's base and came with the spoiler. Only bad thing is that u have a huge useless 4th break light in the back.

actually the SH is 80 lbs heavier, more or less. the sh is more complicated to make extreme engine mods to, since the aTTs stops working at around 250 whp.

It doesn't stop working, it's always gonna be on, but after 250 whp the ATTS can't handle it so much, so it just doesn't work as much and is much less noticable.

Is the prelude good on gas? Is it good for an everyday driver? Do you think I good find a good one (Base or SH) for 8-9 grand?

One more question, is it fast compared to other compact on the rode? I dont need to beat a wrx or evo but as long as I am not going to get wasted all the time. Im sure you guys get other people trying to race you all the time...
