Default JDM Swap Questions...

I just did a 95 JDM H22A swap into my 93 Si. I replaced the radiator and the fan for the JDM ones. The fan acts totally different now. It always comes on after I turn the car off and it runs for like 35 minutes before it shuts off. Is something not hooked up right? I'm pretty sure we connected everything correctly. Also, sometimes when the car gets pretty warm, and/or when I turn on the A/C for awhile, the brakes get kind of squishy and I have to pump them to stop. I don't know for sure if it has anything to do with temps, but the brakes always work pretty good while the car is cold or if I don't turn on the A/C for awhile.

It is in fact normal for the fan to turn on after you shut your car off, it all depends on how hot it got while you were driving it... its just to cool it down...

fan running after car is off = car is warm and the car itself is trying to cool off the cars motor so then their are no problems next time you start.

squishy brakes = BLEED THOSE BEFORE YOU DIE... pretty much.

as far as your radiator question, its perfectly normal for the radiator to stay on after you shut down upward to 15-10 minutes...I have no clue why your radiator stays on close to 30 minutes, that jus weird. Does it stay on for 30 minutes EVERY time? I got a feeling you've been testin out your new H22, exploring the wonders of the H-series VTEC (you're running the shit outta it)...so if thats the case, ease up on the engine; dont get on it a lot the next time u drive and see how long the radiator stays on then.

I can literally get in the car after it has been sitting all night, turn the key on, then back off without even starting the engine and the fan will run for 30 mins, everytime.

Also, when I've been driving the car a little while, and it gets warmed up, sometimes I get the "fluctuating idle". It's different than the "fluctuating idle" that I got once before with my old engine in that it does it when it's warmed up, and mainly when I'm coming to a stop in the car. Before with my old engine it did it when it was still cold until it warmed up.

Fluctuating idle could be the EACV/IACV whatever someone wants to call it, but that would normally throw a CEL code, I thought.

Why dont you just put your old radiator back in then? Did you properly bleed your coolant system? Unplug your idle air control valve see if that stops the idle problem, and replace it if it does.
