Default Turbo on a automatic?

I have been looking into turbos for my 'lude recently. My friend says not to do it because my car is automatic, and if it won't make much of a difference i don't want to fork over all that money. Do you think it would be worth it on an automatic car? Thanks.

Over time it will definatley kill your tranny but thats with any tranny 5speed or auto... no tranny is indestructable... plus a built auto tranny with a stall converter is a lot more benificial at the track then a 5 speed imo...

the prelude auto transmission will not last long with that kind of power output. if you rebuild the transmission and beef up some of the parts, maybe. otherwise, save up for another car if you want to go fast, and get a 5spd next time.

dont waste your money boosting an automatic---Manual tranny's WILL ALWAYS BE FASTER. If you're "friend" is really serious about boosting his ride, tell him he might really want to consider the benefits of a manual transmission

Manual tranny's are not always faster... Have you ever been in a car with a fully built auto tranny?

It's not my friend its me. My friend told me not to do it. I wanted 5speed, but this is my first car, and my mom said she would only let me buy an automatic because she can't drive 5speed. If I had it my way, i would have 5 speed. I think its stupid because if I paid for the car I should be able to get what I want, but oh well, I'm glad to have what I do.
