Default Quick Question/Opinion.

Ok my 93 Prelude Si has 162K miles on it. It runs good and all. Here is my dilemma.
Should I just repaint it with a good clean paint job and sell it? and how much you think I can get for it? its white btw. Or should I buy an H22A longblock and swap my H23a1 and keep my H23 tranny and THEN sell it? How much you think I can get for it w/ an H22? Anyways, I just need some options, all I know is, it must be sold, im a college student and have NO money, I will end up borrowing money if I do the H22 deal, but im wondering if its worth the extra money will I get a better return in the long run? Thanks.

www.nadaguides.com

you should be able to get an estimate from that site, and follow the low to average retail. few, if any, cars meet the criteria for high retail.

WHY DO U WANNA SELL IT???? I had the same setup as you, a 93 prelude SI (cept mine came with 4WS)...when my h23 blew, the first thought that came into my head was : "now i have an excuse to throw an h22 in there!" I would buy the h22a1 (if u can find it, as opposed to the h22a4) longblock, use the h23 tranny (i do, and so does boomer) and you're set!!!

i'm just afraid i'll have to replace a ton of other parts in it... you think that won't be the case? I have an offer to buy a JDM H22A tahts putting down 210WHP and 163 torque... bunch of Skunk2 internal parts... for $2000 what do you think? or should I jsut get a JDM H22A off ebay for $1350 shipped?

2000 is not that much for an h22 puttin down 210HP to the wheels...on the other hand, u can buy a new(er) h22 for 1350 shipped. that really is up to you...if you plan on modding and hookin up your H22 in the future, than if that built h22 is in good shape and hasnt been dogged, I would get that...If you plan not to heavily mod your ride, just buy the 1350$$$ h22..

just my .02 cents

Keep it for now or sell it. Don't bother with the swap if you have to borrow money, too many headaches later on like downtime without a car or just motor swap problems. Besides, it's easier to sell a car with fewer mods than one that has a lot of them. Wait till you have a little more cash or a decent loan to get a 5th gen.

How much should I sell it for? I am afraid I won't get almost anything for the car in its current condition, the motor doesn't sound too great.

162K miles, new Brembo rotors up front, magnaflow cat-back exhaust (not loud), DC-S header (ebay), hi-flow cat, 5sp, white, Blaupunkt CD/MP3 player, clean interior. Runs good, just sounds a little bad to me. VERY quick. how much you think I should sell it for? i'm going to get the front repainted cuz I had to replace a fender cuz mine was smacked and dented. so w/ a new paintjob, what do you think I could get for my 1993 Prelude Si w/ 162K miles?

Check your local autotrader and see what 91 preludes like yours are going for and you should get a good idea of where you stand. My friend just traded her 93 lude in and got $2200 for it which I thought was a good deal even with it beat up as bad as it was. Whatever you do, just don't let your car end up owning you.
