Default Tires

I recently bought a set of Nankang tires (215-35-18), and they have given me nothing but trouble. I have had about eight flat tires since August. I have also bought two more tires since then. One is a different brand only because I was on vacation when had to buy it to get home. That one tire hasn't given me trouble unlike the other three. Basically this is a suggestion for everyone not to buy Nankang tires, and a question to ask what a good tire is for that size. I drive my car a lot because of work, so I want something with a strong sidewall in case of potholes and something that will stick me to the curves.

I've got Toyo Proxies on my Prelude (came with them) and they seem to be holding up great and I've had the car since April and put 15k on it already.. (85k total)

i ran kuhmos on the prelude before and now i run bridgestone re750's. the kuhmos were great in wet and dry weather. i upgraded to the re750's because they are a step better in wet and dry weather and i need better traction since i just turboed the lude. if i was still NA i would probably stick with kuhmos because they are all around good performance and the cost is cheap

kumho 712's are a decent tire for the price.

also the yoko AVS ES100's are a solid tire for a little more. hear conflicting reports about the paradas, and the parada II's.

i'd also look at the falken ziex 512, if you need something for all weather conditions.

You made a statement about potholes-this tire size does not like them. You have almost no sidewall. Could be that you should consider a different series tire. Also the Bridgestone RE730 or RE750 is an excellent all-around tire from my experience with them both on road and track. Yokohama also has several possibilities available.

the 730's are a great tire, but they get kinda loud as they age.

towards the end they emit nothing short of a dull ROAR.
