if you hit potholes often like me (cross bronx epwy)
dont buy nittos or toyo's
ive had nittos for a while now and they constantly bubble
ive heard the same for toyo

my kumho supra 712's just came in a few days ago, great price on www.tirerack.com also great reviews.
cant wait till i get em mounted and break em in a little for the real fun to begin now that i have the ES all installed, only thing that sucks about that is THE SQUEEKING.

I have bridgestone potenza's on my acccord (stock wheels) and I think they are great. Of course I don't know too much about tires. h:

depends on which potenzas you're talking about but the potenza RE92 is a steaming pile. the 730's and 750's are ok. the 930's and 950's are ok. people seem to hate the RE010, and the potenza S03 pole position is one of the best tires you can buy...

Tires over 17" are not recomended for every day, all weather driving. They are mostly for the track or show. Truck tires are a different story (obviously), but as for passenger vehcles, 18" and up starts to affect the dynamics of your car beyond the way Honda intended.

Yeah, I have bought a total of 6 tires, because the Nankangs bubbled out. So I'll need something with a strong sidewall. And yes, anything over 17" is not good for commuting. Unfortunately, I drive it about 800 miles per week. I thought about selling the car to someone who will keep it local, but I just cant do it. How important is it to put the stock wheels back on for winter? I really dont want to.

Well, you're in Virginia, so I assume sometimes you have winters as bad as us in Cleveland, right? Even if not, just a dusting of snow will render low profile tires almost useless. If you have a couple inches, forget it. I work with someone who owns a 2001 Audi S4 quattro, and his first bad snow encounter with the car he couldn't get out of his driveway with the stock 17" and all wheel drive! Had to get winter tires. So I do suggest some sort of all season tire for the winter.
