well I've got an appointment for friday morning to have it looked at by a tranny specialist in the area... I'll see what options he offers.

Any idea how much $ a used one might go for?

i saw someone recently in the kill stories forum had a used f22a1 auto tranny from an accord for sale. he had the ad on his sig. i dont deal with many auto's personally tho so i cant speak on the compatibility end of it, except to tell you that if it fits an accord with an f22 then it will fit your prelude with an f22, wiring/ecu etc would most likely be the incompatibility if any exists.

hmmm.... how much would a manual conversion cost?

If this is going to cost $1500-1700.... would it be at all worth it to just go right to a manual?

I doubt it but it's worth a shot asking. :dunno:

a 5spd swap costs around 3500 more or less, depending on how lucky you are finding parts.

any used F series or H series auto tranny should be compatible, and also should cost less than 1500 installed. i'm guessing around 300-500 for the parts at the most. it would probably take around 5-8 hours of labor to install @ 70/hr so on the high end you're looking at 1100 bucks.

personally i think you could get it done for under a thousand esp if it's an F22 > F22 direct install.

Thanks for the info.

My brother said he would call around some places and see if he can find the parts cheaper.
