Should the Gov bail out the big 3?
I totally see the impact the economy would see if they go under.
I also think with the bailout there should have been a paycut down to 500k as a cap as a consequence to asking for bailout money to help keep the money out of the pockets of the execs making millions a year. There is no need for a 10 million dollar salary for any job. Change your lifestyle to accompdate your wages.
As to the unions I also totally agree. There ARE pluses to unions but the outrageous pay for simplistic jobs is obscene.

you cant put a salary cap on corporations, that is way too much gov't interference.
it would be prudent to volunteer a portion of your salary in tough times in order to increase your working capital, especially considering the alternatives but if a business chooses not to reduce salaries and goes under, they have themselves to blame. the gov't is not the one who should be dictating that. remember, this is a primarily capitalistic economy.
keep in mind, if the big 3 go under, production at every other car company is going to have to be increased to accomodate the consumer. yes, jobs will be lost but many of them will be salvaged by the other manufactures. sucks for the slugs that are making 60+ per hour right now when they have to go down to 20/hour when they go from UAW GM, Ford, or Chrysler to Toyota, Honda, VW etc... but i have little sympathy for them, either.
if i knew that my company was failing badly and i could either take a 25-30% reduction in pay or lose my job altogether, it would be an easy decision.
