So Obama was in town last night v. manwithgunarrested
Well the problem with this whole thread is you all turned it partisan because a man got detained outside of an Obama rally by police officers of that region. Not the Secret Service sent to protect Obama but the police officers for that area. Partisan politics aside, I believe every citizen deserves the right to carry responsibly, it is up until the point they become irresponsible with a firearm I believe they should have all rights pertaining to the second amendment. I am more than willing to hear arguments as long as they are reasonable, which I believe both sides are trying to present their first hand experience and is reasonable in stating their opinions. Should it be the sole basis of law? No but it is noteworthy to point that bashing either side doesn't help your arguments
h:
h:Honestly, I feel like I'm one of the people who are able to see both sides of the argument because I know plenty of people who are on that side personally. I may come off as strong in my beliefs of certain things but I have no issues seeing from the other side of the fence. Of course, I won't deny that I believe the grass is greener on this side. :chuckles:
I still am not sure how my comparing inanimate objects capable of causing serious injury or death with one another with the same capabilities is irrational.

That aside, I still have no right to judge you nor have I. As long as I see you're being reasonable, I have no reason for closing a thread or what not. I've never closed or warned you for any of your posts.
When you started to talk about "Ban guns, why not ban cars, they can kill people, matches, they can kill people"; to me, you're already way off point.
We could be here all day, ban staplers, ban alcohol, they can kill people. That's not the argument. We're talking about guns.
Nec brought up many points, I don't agree with 100% of them, but from what I read, he was taking the middle ground and you (and Jesse) refused to see it.

How about we ban criminals?
Come down here and we can hang out, I think you'll find I'm a very level headed person. Hell, we can even go shooting. :chuckles:
P.S. Plenty of people have threads about video game systems, toys, other hobbies, etc. You don't see me going into those threads and posting simply because I don't like those things.

irrational is the argument : ban all guns so noone can have them
... because we saw how well banning heroin and crack works ... noone has it and we did a awesome job banning porn for kids, lord knows i didnt see my first boobie till i was 18
the solution isn't banning the solution is education ...

And notice when someone says you can't do something, you want to do it even more.
nowhere in the constitution do i remember reading "and the president has more rights than anyone else" ... that doesnt sound like a president that sounds like a dictator or a king
and as for your sig, if you look at hitlers accomplishments, taking germany which was the poorest country in europe after ww1. high inflation, high unemployment, the allies of ww1 didn't let germany have more then 100,000 troops i believe. somehow he trained a army from that. he turned germany around and into a world power, that conquered almost all of europe. pretty great as far as achievements went. but he also started ww2 and killed 6 million jews, so those do not matter what he acomplished.
Totally agreed.
I disagree with most of your statements, I never flat out said you were wrong. Heck I've BEEN sick of seeing your posts and threads about guns.

also see that when you talk about banning guns on the grounds they kill that opens up the door to the argument of ban anything that kills
[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation...(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.
---James Madison,The Federalist Papers, No. 46.
No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
(Thomas Jefferson, Proposal Virginia Constitution, Jefferson Papers)
To disarm the people - that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.
(George Mason)
Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.
(James Madison)
The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
(Thomas Jefferson)

time's were also very different 250 years ago. we were a new country. on the frontier settlers had to protect themselves from indians. the military was mostly a militia after the revolutionary war was over.

not saying hitler was right but it just goes to show history is written by the victor.
