So Obama was in town last night v. manwithgunarrested
Open carry is legal here in Colorado, everywhere except Denver (where I live). I have open-carried a few times up in the mountains and in mountain towns, but not in the metro area -- largely because I wanted to avoid a situation like this. Now that I have my CCW, I carry almost everywhere. I don't carry at work because my office has a no-weapons policy and I would be fired if they ever found out, but I carry pretty much everywhere else.
The no-weapons policy annoys me, especially since last year 2 women were raped in the bathrooms on the first floor. Our security personnel -- who do a good job -- don't carry weapons, and there's no cops on the premises, so how does preventing their law-abiding employees from protecting themselves protect help our company?

like i've stated in this thread in MI it is legal to open carry, there is a group here locally that meets every week in one of the parks and has grill outs and answer questions to passing people to raise awareness and help fight the fears of responsible gunowners
they have had the cops called numerous times but there is nothing they can do and they explain this to the people who call them
open carrying is a hassle due to the large number of stupid scared people so i dont do it ... when in colorado i open carry usually because im frequenting between camp and town so i dont feel like removing. once i finalize my CCW permit i will carry everywhere that its legally possible for me to do so

like i said before i am not judging you for carrying a gun nor am i an anti-gun tree hugger liberal, but with every right and privilage there is a law and social tolerance which you have to accept and live with. which goes back to i think someone said, just because you can, doesnt mean you have to.

The fuck? So is this what this is all about? Black penis envy? Seriously, it's one thing to become so passionate about our Second Amendment right that it's almost all a person talks about, but when they start spewing out racially motivated, bigoted crap, it really makes it seem like they only want a gun to make up for deficiencies in other areas.
I know that it's the internet and you might be writing these kinds of things to get a rise out of people but sometimes it's best to think first. Sometimes I feel like the type of representation our right gets from its own defenders is worse than the right's opponents. :shake:

I think people owning guns to compensate for feelings of inadequacy is probably just a myth, that's what 3ton+ trucks are for(with some exceptions).

Uhh I think you are wrong there...in fact I am pretty damn sure you are.
If a state has in their constitution that a person is allowed to open carry there is no legal way to enforce otherwise except in public buildings such as a courthouse, school or other state admin buildings. This means if you are legal to own a gun and carry it on your person in plain view of others you are abiding by the laws set forth by your state and if you are arrested under the reasoning that carrying that weapon is illegal in some manner you are under false arrest and there is recourse for this.
