It does not matter if it is a religious play or not. They do not allow representations of him anywhere.

The artist can do that here because people are generally more laid back in our country regarding religion. In many other Christian places in the world, riots and protest WOULD have occured.

 

Among other things the Ten Commandments do not allow you to take the Lord's name in vain, but that happens all the time and noone is attacking those that do.

Simply put, they are playing to the sensitivities of a particular religion that has show they are highly intollerent of differing opinions.

nonsense. Christianity and Judaism are constantly attacked from all sides, and this has been going on for as long as i can remember.

i see/read about it constantly on TV, in "art", even from some of our politicians. hell, just look at madonna's world tour. what she's doing is blasphemous, plain and simple. do you think Christianity allows for that? of course not. has that resulted in protests? sure. have there been any murders? no. even an ounce of violence? no way.

like DVPGSR, the only reason everyone keeps bowing down to the muslims is because they go absolute nuts when they're offended. but don't give me that shit that Christianity and Judaism aren't being attacked just as badly, or worse even, ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS, and that it's somehow OK because it's tolerated.

He is not an idiot and brings up a valid point. When I was 17 I was in HS living at home with my parents. My world revolved around girls, sports, and getting into college. I voted for Pat Buchanan in the school mock election because he wanted to build a wall between the US and Mexico. What I knew back then was so sheltered considering my parents paid for everything. I had hardly a clue about the real world.

Don't get offensive about your age. I was actually surprised that you were that young because a lot of your views are far more mature than your age suggests. But realizing that your views and opinions are limited due to your age will only make you smarter. Even now at 29 I still talk to my father about almost everything seeking his advice because he will always have more experience and a better view having gone through morethings than I.

Realizing ones limitations and freely admitting them makes you stronger, not weaker.
