He is not an idiot and brings up a valid point. When I was 17 I was in HS living at home with my parents. My world revolved around girls, sports, and getting into college. I voted for Pat Buchanan in the school mock election because he wanted to build a wall between the US and Mexico. What I knew back then was so sheltered considering my parents paid for everything. I had hardly a clue about the real world.

Don't get offensive about your age. I was actually surprised that you were that young because a lot of your views are far more mature than your age suggests. But realizing that your views and opinions are limited due to your age will only make you smarter. Even now at 29 I still talk to my father about almost everything seeking his advice because he will always have more experience and a better view having gone through morethings than I.

Realizing ones limitations and freely admitting them makes you stronger, not weaker.
