I've been paying him via paypal, and so far he has been eating the fees.
got the Black Prime today. 2 days from China ... 2 f'ing days.
The tape on this box is WAY different from the 1st Prime I purchased. The Black Prime was sealed with Scotch Crystal Magic Tape ... the exact same brand I use at home. With that said, I opened it up without hesitation.
When comparing to my G1 1985 Prime ...
plastic = higher quality
paint applications = equal .. the face is a bit sloppy on the KO
hinges and joints = mixed ... the bootleg has one tight arm, one loose arm, soft bendy knees, stiff chest
build quality = 1985 is better. The KO can't seem to close all its seams properly.
On a side note, the KO originated from France. It has a French stamp on the bottom of it.

1. the legs hold together
2. the plastic is equal or higher quality
3. the box alignment issue was fixed
4. the cardboard stock used for the box is extremely sturdy. (I could drop this and not bend a corner)
some lows ...
1. the figure has seams when transformed
2. most of the paper work is missing (instructions, how to remove toy from foam, proper figure check list, red visor)
3. the figure check list packed with the toy features Ultra Magnus, Galvatron, and Rodimus Prime ... all post movie characters. (no Jazz, Sideswipe, Trailbreaker, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Megatron, seekers, etc)
this is an awesome purchase for $100 ... these bootlegs far surpass any Takara or Hasbro reissue. I noticed all reissue Primes are made from G1's press of Ultra Magnus. (my G1 UM has the long pegs) ... this is a TRUE press of G1 prime, unlike what we've been buying since 2001.

I think this figure was pressed from the legendary "red foot" Prime :eek3:

Someone pressed the bootlegs off of the strangest G1 variant of all time.

from s-o-c's auction.. "Accordingly to a reliable source, this is a very small custom reproduction made from the original European molds. "
so it looks like it's the same exact thing.. don't know if this was already obvious.
fascinating info, btw, andrew.
