Mayo,
The 1NZ-FE is a closed- deck block, I think...[?]
How is 220whp going to be a challenge, given the displacement...a D- series can do it.

Anybody got numbers from the GReddy xB kit?

EDIT: Page two ownage

*Copperhead Alert*

What Scion needs is a sports car.

I read a while ago they may bring the JDM Toyota Caldina GT4 over here, and all I can say is, sign me up!

250hp 3SGE
4/5 Speed Sequential Automatic(please have a manual option)
Wagon Bodystyle

Well the Caldina is a far cry from a sports car (although the 250hp turbo engine is pretty nice). Scion is said to be adding a 3rd model in time for its nation-wide launch next June, and the Caldina is the front-runner. Toyota execs have already ruled out the 180hp Corolla hatch sold in Europe. I think its doubtful that the Caldina will come here in its hottest form, after all Scion is targeted at the youth market and they are aiming primarily at the lower-end of the market.

The third Scion model is suppose to be some SUV-ish crossover coupe, dubbed as the ccX at previous auto shows.

No thanks to either of those. :db:
I think a boosted xB could be a shitload of fun!
Who'd expect a "box" to haul fairly serious a$$....:rick:

Ive had a ride in one, and they haul ass. Its just a WRX in another boddy

A boosted xB would be a blast

2ZZFE 1.8L motor
T25/K03 or other small turbo
Intercool(Front Mount)
Neccesary electronics
Water Spray(wishful thinking)

The are ugly non-performance cars IMO.

wow, i never realized the civic had that little hp. ok, point made.

i'm not familiar with toyota engine codes, so are you talking about doing an engine swap? because if you are you can do the same thing to any other car - civic, element, whatever. its not a measure of the car that you're looking at, its a measure of the money you're willing to spend.

The 1NZ-FE is the stock motor for the Scion xA & xB. I don't know the development of this engine- specifically the issue of open versus closed-deck- but no matter, really...GReddy already has a turbo kit under development; it should be CARB certified soon.

I'd consider an xB as a second car- and in keeping with that premise, a turbo kit is what I'd prefer, based on my driving style :naughty: and relative cost-effectiveness.
