Scion Announces Prices for xA and xB
i love the honda element. a lot of people think it looks ugly, but i love it. i mean its not beautiful, but i think the design is perfect for the car they designed underneath, and for the target audience they were going for.
i think the both the scions are ugly and completely under powered. only LEV with that small of an engine and that little horsepower? honda's engines make those look like shit. toyota's persistence on showing decked out xB's at car shows is laughable. what enthusiast will buy a car (VAN!!!) with 108 hp? people love to soup up vans in japan. there are magazines dedicated to van enthusiasts. but it really isn't like that in america.
with pricing that low, however, i think they'll probably sell. they'll draw away from the hyundai/kia/daewoo crowd, but those companies also don't produce anything like these cars, really. unless you consider the xB to be a minivan. the scions do have a ton of features. at that cost its really hard to beat. that is probably their idea, tho. if scion is successful i'm sure the prices will rise dramatically.

One thing that does offend me is the DX model with it's terrible looking steelies. :barf:
Echo is perfect target for turbo pocket rocket. The car handles much better than the Scion due to less weight. Echo is a CRX killer when setup properly. Of course it is much easier to setup a CRX to kill almost anything so why bother with the Echo?

Are you people who consider the xB stylish really serious??? It's a box! It has no redeeming stylistic value whatsoever! I mean, I thought the Honda Element looks like a box, but the xB doesn't just look like one, it is one! I don't see how anyone would buy one... but I guess that's just my opinion.

I agree, i think it is ugly, and very very boring. It is just a box, thats it, no styling cues at all, just a box......reminds me of a mini Chevy Astro! Blah.....

i disagree with the "stylized box" idea, actually. i don't think its stylized whatsoever

CRXs also look a lot better than ugly echos =P
I like the xB more as well... Make mine boosted to about 225whp, black on gunmetal 17"s....and paint the tailights red, like God intended...

I think the Fit/Jazz is a done deal for the US. They'd be foolish not to. Selling it here will add another 50,000 or so units net(adjusted for cannabilization of other Honda vehicles). In addition, the R&D costs can be further spread so the additional cost to brining it to the US is minimal.
On another note, the xA looks pretty practical and would the ultimate commuter car.

You got to wonder why they made them so boxy. Granted, the vehicle is intended for younger folks who don't neccessarily care about NVH, but the boxy design has to make horrible wind noise.
