I think that's a pretty narrow minded post. It's not mainstream now, but hell, who's to say it won't be? This will play DVD-A's and CD's, I don't understand your problem with it. If it does go mainstream and is a big hit, Honda will reap the benefits. If it doesn't, so be it.

Honda never goes out on a limb on things so I doubt they will on this.

I am just going from past experiences. Remember how mini disks were the wave of the future? They are bs and are hardly used. Another thing that was the wave of the future was the beta player as well as A Tracks. I don't think Acura should go on such a limb when this is a very unknown. It would be a big flop is the DVD A medium does not become widely accepted and used.

Also, i read today that the DVD Audio's are going to drop down to like 16-18 bucks. Not too bad, only a couple bucks more than a regular CD.
Dang fastball, you an audiophile too? That's crazy man, I thought I was one of the only cats that dig Audio/Video and Hondas! lol Looks like you know you're sh*t, n' DAMN man, you do like that high end stuff. That's sh*t I read in Stereophile and Sound & Vision. I got myself an Onkyo TXDS797 THX, w/ a extra Onkyo Amp for more power and the Rear Center channel. Martin Logan's in the front and MK's in the back, oh and a dang good Sunfire Sub!!! HAHAHA, that's cool man! Y'all know your audio as well as ya cars!!! I feel better now, lol!

i'm curious...does dvda use the dvd-blue laser?..sony just released the first dvr-blue (can fit 5x the data on the same area as a normal dvr [red] b/c of the shorter wavelenght of the laser)...i believe panasonic was also a participant of the symposium on this technology

And I think this is the first time Panasonic has been a main stock head unit supplier for Honda-Acura. Traditionally, Honda sticks with Alpine and goes to Bose for its upmarket stuff. If Panasonic is Honda's answer to Toyota's Mark Levinson, I'm not impressed. Panasonic's car audio line is about as good as Sony's Xplod (aka REALLY BAD)

Sorry man. I'm an audiophile. I talk to people at work like this all day. You say one thing about real high end audio and I get in to my zone.
