It would be a big flop is the DVD A medium does not become widely accepted and used.

Honda never goes out on a limb on things so I doubt they will on this.
Mini Disc was another format flop by Sony (just like Beta..... see a trend?) With both MD and Beta, Sony either refused to share the technology with other manufacturers, or limited their ability to produce them if they did. Sony wanted to keep a monopoly on the technologies so they were the only ones to make money on it, when it just pretty much turned around, punched them in the face, and they lost money. Remember, Beta is a completely different format physically from VHS, as is MD from CD. While DVDA is a different software from CD, it is still physically the same. So from an engineering standpoint, all they need to do is integrate the DVDA and CD decoding program and circuitry, instead of a completely different mechanism and design. The new TL will have a 6 disc changer and in the player the programing and circuitry for DVDA decoding will be integrated.

Tell me, why on earth did you bring up 8 tracks?
