That said, give me a 2001 740i Sport.
They had a 740i Sport with a 6 speed? I thought it started at 745i. I guess that's this model.

I dont think they ever had a 6 speed manual in a 7. now they got a 6 speed auto, thats as close as youll get. unless they shove SMG in it.

7 series had manual transmissions available untill the late 1980's. Back when the only engines available were the 3.0 and 3.5 inline six. I used to work with someone who had a 1984 735i and a five speed manual. Pretty cool car..... was as big as a boat but handled like a mid-size sports sedan. You couldn't destroy this thing if you tried. It had 130,000 on the odometer when it broke he said in 1992. He got rid of it in 1999 and the car was still in pretty good shape. Only things he said he ever replaced were the clutch and the A/C compressor.

I didn't dissagree with you. I was clearifying that in the old days you could get a 7-series in a manual untill they were redesigned in 1989. Since then they've all been automatics. I'm sure in Europe you can get a manual in every model.

:werd: Manuals on 7-Series haven't been available for a while.

You could probably do a swap if you really wanted to from a 540i 6-speed or an 840Ci tranny if need be (and you can find one).

Or buy a 750iL and put in the 6-speed from the 850CSi. :lmao:

Ahhh, the 8-series. How I miss those cars. They were beautifull, weren't they?
