hmmm I don't know what difference that would make unless you were getting a lease :dunno:

The Korean's attempts at luxury cars (this and XG300/XG350) all seem to have interiors that are up to current market standards, but exteriors that seem to be already dated when new. It's as though they're going for the 1993 market. The Tiburon looks great (inside and out), the Elantra is unique and I think good looking, and the Optima (before the 2003 refresh) and Sorento are good looking. They know how to make good looking cars, but it seems like they don't want to risk it in the luxury sector, and that's their biggest problem.
I was going to point that out, but I opted not to. I mentioned four vehicles:
Tiburon: Everyone knocks the Tibby as a Ferrari knockoff, but I honestly see Supra when I look at the greenhouse, not Ferrari.
Now, the Tiburon has a unique front end. It's not ugly, it's fresh and new. Now, perhaps 456GT or Supra was used as a design basis, but they're both great looking cars in their own.
Elantra: I don't think this rips off any vehicles.
Optima: This is a mid-size car. To some people they all look the same. Welcome to ignorance. All vehicles have style, yet what is it that make some look lame and others sporty, I don't know. How was the Protege always labeled a bland compact car until Mazda freshenes the front (2001), makes a 130hp 2.0l standard, and adds a 5-door model. Suddenly it's sporty! If ever Civic came with fog-lights, a rear spoiler, and alloy wheels, everyone would probabily think it's sporty. I think the Optima was good looking. It may have had a grille reminescent of the pre-2001 Chevy Ventures, but everything about it was fresh (excluding the 'It's sooo trying to rip off the Sonata, look at the interior and the doors and the greenhouse' comments).
Sorento: We all know this vehicle has an uncanny semblance to the RX300. Intentional? Perhaps. I think Kia saw the RX (which is a unique design in some regards) and opted to copy it. I think they actually did a better job.

People think the Protege is sporty because it's fun to drive, much moreso than the current Civic.
But back to the Opirus, I see KIA badges on it in some pics and Opirus badges on it in others. Maybe it varies by market?

The rear windows are shaped like a Lincoln........the way that the roof drops down in the back.....I don't really know all the technical terms for the different parts of a cars exterior......
