i'd think the s2000 and the rx8 would have similar performance...120hp / liter from a na inline 4 is impressive...but so is 192hp / liter from a na wankel is also impressive (rotaries are more efficient engines)

 

Yeah, I'd imagine they drive very similarly. If Mazda is able to get the RX-8 to feel like driving an S2000 but with a solid roof and more room, I'd totally dig it.

 

Mazda says a two-door RX-8 is a possibility (no, a 2-door version will not called be the RX-7) to supplement the "4-door" RX-8 that will debut.

I don't know, Mazda has been impressing me a lot lately. I may have to start registering at some Mazda boards.

Yes, I'm still faithful to Honda. They're engineering cannot be beat, but damn, they make some very boring cars.

Hopefully someone can read the article, cuz I can't tell if there's anything mechanically different with the Mazdaspeed RX-8 and a stock version. If its just a body kit and some clear lenses I wouldn't be very impressed.

I'm hoping that with the recent success of the Mazdaspeed Protege (and the success of a revised line-up) that Mazda will really consider brining a higher performance RX-8, a Mazdaspeed version with a turbocharger perhaps???
