Mike is right, with the way the economy is right now, I think the 30k market is the one thats going to make the most business to comepete in.

If that is the engine for the rx-7 I'd be very surprised.
i believe it is a 3 rotor setup...based heavily on the renisis....not 100% sure. There's this guy claiming to be an engineer with mazda and for some reason he's on the freshalloy boards. He's been pretty accurate before...so who knows.

I think that the next RX-7 could easily post 300hp numbers, esp. if talk of bumping the displacement (adding a third rotor or however the hell they do it on rotary engines).

Also, enthusiasts may not think of it this way, but when a company designs and produces a car (take Porsche for example) they don't think of the current economy, but how the economy will be over the next 7 years. I don't think we'll see another period like the late 90's, but we're not going to be in a recession forever. As it is now Japanese nameplates have significant marketshare in all areas of the marketplace, except for the high end 50k+ vehicles. Logically, I think the next best place to improve is up.

I believe that's a Mazdaspeed concept that was shown somewhere in Japan. From comparing the pictures to the ones on Mazda USA's site I see a new front bumper, clear corner lenses, new mirrors, tacked on side skirts, the rims, wing, and a different rear diffuser portion on the bottom of the bumper.

It looks really good although I don't really dig the supports on the wing, they look a bit cheesy.

Seems like it also has flared fenders.

Those rims are so nice.
