From Ghosn "2007 Nissan Sentra will go on sale in late October 2006, followed by a new SE-R model in early 2007".

Yeah, but Nissan prides themselves on flashy and powerful.
The Civic is more critical in design, and the Sentra isn't really all
that much more powerful than a Corolla, Focus, Mazda 3, etc
if at all.

I think they drop the ball in the power department. It looks ok to me, not that great but not that horrible. It look bland, so it'll probably sell ok base on look. But Nissan recently have been all about the best HP in its class, and 135HP is definitely not the most powerful. It's probably will be more preppy around town because of the torque, but the SR20 from 15 years ago was already pulling that kind of number already. For there sake, 135+ will be more around 145HP by production time. Also, Nissan state that they'll be using CVT on all the FWD cars soon and replace all automatic. Should be interesting to see that.

Hey, hey, hey not better than 02-03 Spec V. But hey of course it should, being that the current Sentra came out in 1999.

nobody noticed that in the specs it looks like nissan went back on a promise made several years ago when the intro'd the 02 altima. All new cars fwd or rwd will have independant rear suspension. So what's up with the torsion beam?

On a side note...it looks as if the azeal will probably be the sentra coupe. So maybe the se-r will be in coupe form.

I saw & took photos of the 2007 Sentra @ NAIAS today.

If you like how the Nissan Maxima looks, then you will like the Sentra.
If you don't care for Nissan design and/or must have a coupe, then you and the Sentra are not meant to be.
