Does anybody really think of the altima or 06' sonota a real competition?
It's a nice thought, but Honda rarely deviates from their 5-year model production cycle now adays. The current Accord is still a solid player.

I agree. It easily won most of the mid sized sedan comparisons in the magazines. They are at full production in Ohio and honestly don't need a sales boost... only to increase profit margins and maintain market share.

If your car is already considered the benchmark, chainging it only wastes resources, and can hurt the resale value of the existing vehicles which makes return customers angry and hurts profitability on lease vehicles.

You'll also notice that Honda rarely sells to fleets because the margins are much lower. Looking long term at the direction of the industry as a whole (flat or decreasing volume), they are not expanding production of their cars and shifting focus to light trucks and SUV's.

that is one thing a lot of people overlook. toyota does fleet out their cars, thats why they sell more than honda.

Default I Sure Hope This Isn't The 2008 Accord

For your sakes I hope this isn't similar to what the 2008 Accord will look like. Its hideous. I think this is the Acura TSX here in America. Very unimaginative and super ugly. This is porbably and oversea's version of the Accord. I personally loved the last generation accord but this current generation is a huge mistake times 10. Many people talk about the "bland" styling of the Camry but if you pay attention most of the negative criticism comes from men. Men expect the Camry to look like a Porche or a Mercedes S series and thats not logical. Most women would say otherwise of the Camry's styling. People don't buy Camry's just for build quality. The fact that so many people buy Mercedes and BMW's knowing that they have more maintenence problems than almost any other vehicles despite their cost suggest that people are more impressed with the looks and name over quality of the car. I think the 2005/06 Camry SE's are A LOT better looking than the current Accord and while the HP isnt as much as the Accord it is nothing to laugh at.

And for the record I love Honda and Toyota but Accord's don't look as elegant as a Camry. And if Honda was so much better than Toyota they would be leading in sales across the board and poised to become the #1 auto manufacturer in the world. Honda isn't. I agree the current Accord interior is better than the current Camry (except for the XLE Camry which I think it fairly comparable but not necessarily better). I can't see Honda increasing HP by only so much otherwise they will canabalize sales of the Acura TL. I'm sure designing of the new Accords is well underway so unless they already had provisions of having 270+ hp what is the likelyhood that they can incorporate it now?

Um, it's not going to be the 2008 Accord cause it's the 2004 Euro and Japanese Accord, and TSX here.

So you like Toyotas, neat.

But who the hell expects a Camry to look like a Porsche?

Thats actually what drew me to the accord was it's plain, simple, yet sleek, and some what luxurious and sporty styling. The camry is supposed to be more like a lexus than a porsche (lexus is the upscale of toyota). There is just something about the accord that beats the camry. The camry is just too feminine for my taste, no offense to men who own a camry, and its too bulky, bloated, and has a retro styled rear. While the 05 accord's rear is a bit retro itself it has low rear overhang compared to the camry which makes it look not as retro, but anyway, thats why i'm here because i bought a honda and not a toyota. I really doubt that that would be the next generation accord. Can't wait to see it. Thanks for posting.

I would just like to say that the Accord will always have it's niche among those of us who can appreciate a quality car that is stylish and sporty.
