BMW X3 and X7
The X3 will enter with very little competitors. The MDX, QX4, RX300/330, and ML320/500 all feature more interior room than the X5. The X5's major detriment is the sloping rear hatch, which while privoding a sportier lookin inline with BMWs, cuts down on cargo room big time.
I've always thought two places where Acura could provide niche vehicles would be by offering versions of the CR-V and Odyssey. Chrysler makes a killing selling all those Town and Country's. I think Acura has considered the CR-V idea (hence the RDX concept). A minivan might not give it the best image, but I definately think it would sell.
Also, the X7 is supposedly being built on a legnthened X5 chasis, rather than the 7-Series chasis.

As for the X7, i think you are right about it not being built on the 7 platform, but a stretched version of the X5's, just like the Range Rover is.

If they have an X3, X5 and X7 thatll be a complete SUV lineup. So hopefully they wont try to make any more than three.

there maybe a 2dr/3dr convertable version as well.
i think the world is going to end soon
Hey look, a BMW Sidekick er X3. The X5 is already not that roomy, I can't imagine any sort of practicality out of an X3.
While I do think the concept of Bimmer SUVs is borderline sacriledge, I look at it as a positive thing for the general motoring public. Anything that gets people out of 3-ton lumbering mastadons and into something that more resembles a car is fine by me. Same reason I like the Subaru Outback and Audi Allroad. While I think it's pretty dumb to take a fine handling sportwagon and jack it up over truck tires, it keeps the soccer moms of the world in cars instead of trucks.
Oh, and I like the new 7 and Z4. :fawk:
