Also, Michigan man buys "last' Camaro for over $70k. What a fool.......
Fool or not, if they really end the Camaro for good, then he got a collector item on his hand. It'll just go up and up if he keep it in mint condition.

As for that, not really. With a good launch the S2000 wins.
A good launch on a S2000 will get to 60 from mid to high 5 sec while a good launch on a Z28 will get low to mid 5 sec.

He's talking about an SS not a Z28.

If you read it, it said how the last one acutally went to a museum. So, wow, the second to last!

I doubt hes going to get anywhere near 70k(or the similar dollar mark accounting for inflation) before he dies. His grandson might.

That statement even further support my point since the SS is faster than the Z28.

Yianni64, I know it's the 2nd to the last one but it's the last one for the public. You can never predict what kind of price a collectible item is in a few years, you jsut have to take a risk. Just hope he make the right choice... heheh. I would never buy a camaro for $70k even if that's the only one on earth.

I wonder if he's going to drive it. If it its anything but perfect condition, itll be worthless.

Anyways, back to topic, are we going to see a return of the F-body?

On slicks maybe, but good luck trying to get that "good launch" on street tires.

You can hit 130 in a near stock Integra GSR, and that has far less power and one less gear than an S2000. I'd be amazed if the S couldn't pass 140.

I hit 140 on my GS-R before. However, when you're going that high, you need exponential power to go higher. Aerodynamic and drag coefficient plays the biggest role in top speed and the soft top of a S2000 doesn't help any either. With the NSX, the top speed is only 163 or 168. This is due mainly to the drag coefficient of the NSX being (if i remember right) .33 .

Those time were magazine tested time so I doubt they'll throw on some slicks. Not everybody have trouble launching.
