I'll be very happy but surprised if the new RDX gets the 3.2 L V6 from the current TL. I thought that from previous rumours that it was most likely to get a turbo I4.

That's the "rumor" from TOV, and they got it from Motor Trend. MT has a habit of being perpetually wrong about Honda products. TOV is a joke. The 3.2 V6 simply makes more sense than the high cost, sport oriented turbo 2.0L.

MtView: It will be on a new block, most likely the K. Some people say it will be an all new 'R' series block but I kind of doubt this when the K block is already in production and perfectly capable.

Kenton: S2200 would follow in the tradition of Honda S series sports cars (S500, S600, S800, S900, S2000). The only reason the current one isn't called the S2200 IMO is because we're the only market that has the 2.2.

Anyway, I'm really excited about all of this. Especially if the NSX and S2K get new models/powertrains. It's about time Honda stepped up to the plate and did something with its halo cars.

The GT3 is faster than the turbo on the track and about dead even with it acceleration wise.

Turbo K20:drool:

It would be wonderful if the turbo trimmings would fit in the current RSX engine bay. Doubtful, but one can dream.

there are new systems in development that actually correct for troque steer by pushing more torque to one side or the other.

it's like the ATTS system in the prelude, only instead of increasing the cornering ability it decrease the torque steer by evening out the two side... from what i've heard/read so far on the systems

the 2000 denotes the displacement in CC's (cubic centimeters) or mL's (milliliters). although the current US s2000 should technically be the s2200 by this standard, like 98CoupeV6 said, we're the only one that has it. but i'm not entirely convinced this was the only reason they stuck with the name.

it wouldn't make sense for them to use a 4-cyl engine either, given the competition the RDX is going to face. but i guess honda does that a lot, putting smaller engines with fewer cylinders up against their competitors' models.

You, I, and every other car guy knows that. What I meant is that at least in terms of perceived amount of prestige and performance the turbo is the more premium car, one that is considered higher up the pecking order than the GT3. Or just insert GT2 in my original sentence in place of turbo and it'll mean the same thing but be correct in terms of what you're talking about.

Now since that's clarified, back to the NSX or other Honda engines.

Default And, a few weeks after H-A.Net...

...TOV is reporting that instead of the turbo four the RDX will, in fact, get a V6 as we have been saying here.

I just thought it was funny :chuckles:

Go figures. It's good to see Honda's not willing to compromise durability.
