What honda needs to do is think about the body of the car itself. That SUPER EXPENSIVE aluminum frame is what is holding the car back in sales($90,000), but lets it rip other cars on the track. A 3.5liter iVtec (360hp) sounds nice.

But the NSX will have some competition (New Supra, Nissan GT-R (R35 or R45), and the Mazda RX-8)

Nissan has promised atleast 450hp in the GT-R.

The NSX is in a class above those cars. It's man competitions is the Porsche 911.

As we all very well know, the NSX is about defying the hp numbers, being faster than it should be. Nissans on the other hand...

I don't think the NSX is a class above the GT-R, maybe price wise.

I'm not going to even bother stooping down to that level. My previous post stated that your post was an opinion, and nothing else. Why flame?

And madlow made the banner, not I. The Mrs. drives a '01 Acura 3.2TL and I drive a '99 Accord as a daily driver. The NSX is a toy.

Keep up the insightful posting!

This would be very interesting. If this is the case, I will wait til its released to purchase a used NSX, prices should drop if this holds true.
It aslo said it would NOT be an alloy body.

If the NSX drops down to 55k (good price), then what will happen to the resale value of older NSXs(90k). I mean with 35k extra a person can buy a civic and an Accord.

Listen, folks....... the NSX is NOT going $40,000 down in price, and Honda is NOT making a V8 for anything. You want an NSX that badly, buy a 1992 model.... you can probably find one for 35 grand. But how can anyone fault the price of the car to begin with.... it's hand built from the ground up, the ENITRE DASHBOARD is trimmed in leather with hand stitching, and every part is precision crafted, hand sanded, honed and tested a hundred times for quality. It's pretty much built in the vain of a Rolls Royce, for a third of the price! The fact that it is an exotic car with amazing quality and reliability underscores the $90,000 price tag, and after you think of how the car is built, you ask "only 90 grand? Wow, what a bargain!" Putting things into perspective makes the car that much more amazing.

Honda CAN make a V8 and HAS before. They have used 2.8 Litre V8's in the f1 cars. But a production v8 is unlikely - honda would probably wait until they built the most fuel effecient and economy-friendly and best power v8 motor before they released one.

I seriously doubt they will do this though
